There are several studies published about the power of the mind.

The Power of the Mind

Another four-step focused process of change is:

  1. Relabel the thought

  2. Re-attribute the thought

  3. Refocus the thought

  4. Revalue the thought (Schwarz, 2002, as cited in Kristjansson, 2016, pp. 28).

This means that we must first recognize the original thought as personal, and remove the personal aspect of it. From there, we need to realize the origin of the emotional process. Next, the destructive pattern needs to be broken by taking a deep breath or a quick break. Finally, the thought needs to be revalued and become objective.
